Had a blast running this years Charleston Half Marathon. I'm very familiar with Charleston and did the full marathon last year. So at about 1 1/2 miles into the race we turn left and I think to myself, "we didn't run down this street last year - cool". So now the news is reporting that the lead vehicle "took a wrong turn" and all 4800+ runners followed. Thankfully they were able to get us back on course without putting us on a road with vehicular traffic. The race organizers have calculated that the wrong turn added 0.2 miles to the course distance and that they will adjust finishers times (Boston qualifier). No wonder I was so tired at the finish line - that .2 miles added to the beginning!
