I finally got my gold star! If the forum had stayed as active as it was I'm sure I'd be at like 20,000 by now but I'll take what I can get.
I realize there are very few people left here and possibly fewer that I actually "know" but I still just felt like posting here
This is where I first came to learn about tris and talk with people about it since I knew absolutely nobody in real life who did them. Reading race reports here from 2003 IMCDA (when it was insanely hot) inspired me to sign up for my first Ironman in Lake Placid in 2004. I remember spending my days at work coming back to here, and when I went away from my desk for an hour for lunch I'd come back to almost an entire page of new posts.
Somewhere in my mom's house she has printed out the thread where you guys were following me winning in Placid. I didn't tell her that I posted here and I'm not even sure how she found it (probably a google search) but I thought that was awesome. That was my 4th Ironman race and in November I should be finishing #16.
